Pre production #6 Role

Summary of role.

During the filming and editing process it will be very much a joint effort from me and Beth. We both learnt different skills in our last project that we hope to bring forward into this one. Although Beth will do more filming and I will do more directing depending on what we are shooting it is likely to work out the same work load wise as we both work to our own skills to bring the best out of the video. This helps us have transferable skills.

In pre production we have split the work load and after producing each piece of work separately we have discussed and tweeked the pieces also to make sure we are on the same wavelength

Examples of pre production I have done are: lyrics analysis, shot plans in detail and fulfilling practise shots. I have taken an active role in pre production and we have both worked hard to make sure we planned our piece perfectly from past experience teaching us that we need to plan thoroughly to avoid re shoot after re shoot. During the production phase we will split the camera work as Beth is particularly good at operating the camera more technically whilst I direct our actors. I am going to instruct the actors in how to stand and act with each other. In the post production phase I am going to piece the video together and do the quick editing whilst Beth looks at fitting the lip syncing together with the music and incorporating the random shots.
